Hello, I’m Thy! (pronounced like the letter ‘T’). I am the youngest daughter of the Golden Deli family and the sweet obsessed one-woman-show behind the cakes.
I joined culinary school in 2006 in hopes of one day taking over the family business but instead, I fell in love with baking. I began my baking journey in 2012. My journey didn’t start out well, the first cupcake I ever sold was a red velvet (which had to be refrigerated due to the cream cheese frosting). a customer told me, “this cupcake is cold and hard, like my mother’s heart.” As much as it hurt me to hear that, this was the moment I knew things had to change.
I decided to take a 3 year break to develop my own recipes and its been an incredibly humbling experience. I am happy to say that I am extremely proud of my creations and the journey along the way.
I am thankful for every opportunity I get to learn and grow. I am constantly testing recipes and developing new and unique flavor combinations. I adore what I do, and I can only hope that this shows in every cake that leaves my bakery.
